Midnight causes vac

If you use midnight while gaming and it coincides with a midnight update, you'll instantly get a vac, that's how I got my vac and I've only used midnight from start to finish

No, the cheat will automatically shut down and theoretically there won't be any chance of getting a vac ban since the cheat is fully undetected.
I was also playing casual during the update and nothing happened.
So if you get banned, you should paste your steam link here and wait for the staff to find out what had happened.
